ASp was initiated March 1993, at Université de Bordeaux 2, by Michel Perrin, then chair of the English teaching research group, Groupe d’étude et de recherche en anglais de spécialité (GERAS). ASp publishes research articles, publication listings and reviews related to the field of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) for both teaching and research. The thematic and non-thematic issues aim to give an insight into the specifics of ESP, notably in its linguistic, discursive, cultural and didactic aspects, and also to develop our knowledge of the various specific English registers used for different purposes. ASp has an embargo period of three years and is accessible on the Revues.org platform. Nine issues are currently online, including four full-text issues. Issues published prior to 2004 will be gradually published online over time.
