This day will provide an opportunity for current and recent postgraduate students to reflect upon the role of theory and interdisciplinarity in their own research and upon the future of nineteenth-century French studies.

Postgraduate Study Day: 'Interdisciplinarity and the Future of Theory in Nineteenth-Century French Studies'

Held under the auspices of the Society of Dix-Neuviémistes, with additional financial support from the Society for French Studies, this day will provide an opportunity for current and recent postgraduate students to reflect upon the role of theory and interdisciplinarity in their own research and upon the future of nineteenth-century French studies (taken to include literary, historical, cultural, artistic, and theoretical perspectives on France and the French-speaking world, 1789-1914). Proposals are invited from current and recent postgraduates for ten-minute presentations on the following topics, and how they relate to issues arising in their own research:
The closing dates are 31 January 2004 (to submit a proposal) and 28 February 2004 (to reserve a place).
